NAVAL ARTILLERY CAMP
The Dunedin Naval Artillery wenb Tito camp on Saturday evening for the annual sixteen days' training. The camp is pitched at Forbury Park, as in former years. The drills were at once gone on with and teams put into training for the annual competitive practice, the first series of which takes place from Central Battery; oh Saturday afternoon. Major Johnstone arrived from Wellington, and will •umpire for the competition, while Captain Hume, B.N.Z.A. (Wellington), will be down to act as range officer. Majorgeneral Babington will 3so be present at the practice., The weather so far has.not been good, Ibut the men work on without complaint on that score. The daily routine is as follows:—Reveille, 4.30 a.nu; drill, 5; breakfast 6.15; evening drill, from 6 till 8 o'clock; first post, 9.30; last post; 10; lights out 10.15. On Sunday next the Naval Band will be in camp and play selections. The camp will be thrown open to the public, and the men will be allowed to entertain their friends at afternoon tea.
The attendance so far is a record, and from every appearance the camp will prove to bo one of the beet the corps has yet had, both from an instructional and entertaining point of view. A concert will be given nest Wednesday evening in camp. The camp breaks up on the 23rd inst-.
