The weather was fine, bxtt the attendance was poor, and speculation was •limited, only £262 being invested on the machine, so that the 'dub will probably decide to abandon the meeting, which of recent years has shown not to 'be warranted. The seven events on the card only attracted twenty-five starters, and of these the two trots each claimed a field of five. Results: —> Hack Handicap, SmaHshot (£1 16s); Two-mile Trot, Boojum (£1 lis); Lake County Handicap, Visionary (£1 10s, although this was the principal event on the programme only t£s was invested on the machine); Hack, Miss Criffel' (£6 19s); Mile and a-half Trot, Maggie S. (£4 4s); Flying, Ladykffler (£2 lis); Welter, Ladykiller (£2 i4s). After the Lake County Handicap was run a protest was lodged against Visionary receiving the stake on the fjround that her rider struck the rider of Su-ius across the face with his whip. The stewards held an inquiry, and, although Ihey threw out the objection, both riders were fined £1 for misbehaviour—White for striking M*Kay, and the latter for interfering witb> tlie first-named rider. Mr A. P. Martin acted as judge, his decisions giving every satisfaction. The trophy sailed for by the second class models is the second given this season by Mrs Martin.
