TRAMWAY MANAGEMENT.
TO HIE EDITOR. Sir, —•Would yon grant space in your paper to ventilate ft grievance in connection •with the running of tie horse trams n/ghtly, especially since the Christinas holidays. The officials connected with the eleotrio trams are to be complimented in their catering for the- public by providing sufficient extra cars for those who attend the varioos places of amusement in tie City. This cannot be said in regard to those in charge of the horse trams. On Boadng mght there wasr only one tram to convey home the large number" who were at the theatres, with the result that scores Of elderly people had to tramp from the Oval to Caversham arid South Dunedin. The Same inconvenience has occurred several nights since, but on Saturday night there was no horse tram to meet the last two electric cars, and the passengers had to wade homeward through the slush after the heavy rainfalL This is all the more annoying when passengers have paid their through" fares. Seeing .that Or Braithw&ito and the Tramways Committee ore doing their best to meet the wants of the travelling public, surely the officials at the sOuth end should second their efforts by providing an ertra late car or two to convey through pasaongors to their homes.—l am, etc., Traveller.
