INVERCARGILL WOOL SALES.
INYERCARGILL, January 9—Tho first wool sales of the season were opened this morning, when 6,300 bales were catalogued. There was a large attendance of buyers, and bidding was extremely spirited as compared with the first sale last season. Prices advanced from 3d to 4d per lb, and in some cases fine bright cross-breds sold up to Ls per lb. There was keen competition for pieces up to Bd.
