The Wellington City Council have negatived Saturday as the weekly half-holiday. Reginald P. Wilder, son of a well-known Kangiora runholder, second prefect of the Wanganui Collegiate School, pluckily saved a boy from drowning in the river yesterday afternoon. The bov had gone down for the last time, when Wider, fully attired, dived to his rescue, and succeeded in bringing him to shore. Wilder holds the Australian Humane Society's medal for proficiency 'in life-saving, which he won at the school this year. ' •' ';.
