HARRIERS
—St Andrew's Club.— In their third annual report, to be presented to Monday's meeting, the Committee state that sixteen runs have been held during the season. The number of members "on the roll is twenty-four, with an average attendance at the runs of seventeen. The attendance at the beginning of the season was veiy large, but it decreased considerably towards the end of the reason. This was. no doubt, in some measure due to the bad weather. During the season members of the club have journeyed to Invercargill and Christchurch to take part m races. At Invercargill, in the first interprovincial road race, J. Guinness was one of the winning team, and secured a cap. At Christchurch, in the cross country championship, T. R. Gordon managed to secure a place, and received a medal. None of the chib's members got placed in the Port Chahners-Pelichet Bay road race this vear, but there wiere only three able to run. These events are nearly all held on Saturday, and the majority of our men cannot get away on that day. However, those who have been able to compete in outside events have done themselves and the club credit. Messrs A. Christie, Price, and Rudkin still keep up their reputation on the track, while F. Williams, a member of only one year's standing, has won several events in nue style. The following is the list of those who have won the club races during the year: —Championship, F. Williams; Sealed Handicap (run in conjunction with abobe)—H. C. South 1, J. Gi'inness 2 : Novice Race—J. P. Maddren 1, F. Williams 2: Handicap Race—J. Guinness 1. M. Shand 2. The first novice home in Championship Race was A. Clarke, and he was awarded a trophy. During the -sviir the club have visited tlte following places: —St. Clair, KaikoTai Valley. Port Chalmers, Nonnanby. Woodhatigh, Ravensbourne. Pelichet Bay. Mosgiel. and Anderson Bay. The Committee are sorry to have to report a debit balance, but this is occasioned by having to pav one-quarter of the loss (£2 13s 3d) over the championship meeting in Otaeo. Had it not been for this the. club would have come out on the right side of the ledger. The annual dinner and presentation of prizes was held in the Kia-ora tea rooms, and was a great success. Representatives also attended the socials of the Dunedin, Civil Service, and Young Men's Christian Association Harriers The Committee this year decided to institute attendance prizes. The only members who qualified were J. Guinness, A. Clarke, and H. C. SouiL
