The shorter time worked by the Threemile Greenstone this week wa.s due to a stoppage during the holidays. Minor repairs were effected.

The lontruoiors for raising tho Riley's Beach diedge have made a start, and see nothing lo pieveut a suc-cessful accomplishment of th.; task.

The New Woodstock dredge is bebg fitted with ilu- Leviathan's engine and boikr. There will, of course, be no returns during that time. The New Prince Arthur dredge was badly troubled with drift last. week.

The Rise and Shine Company's dredges were both enguged in opening out this week. Ihe No. 1 dredge wus opening oat towards the east boundary most, of the week. The prospects are good, and the machinery running well. The No. 2 dredge was opening out towards the west boundary. The ma-ster reports that there is a little fine gold all through the wash. There was no wash np on the Mokoia dredge this week. The Moonlight Company (West Coast) report ISoz 7dwt for 120 hours. There was a heavy Hood last Monday. RETURNS.

Values Lii a good many mining stocks underwent, some considerable change on this morning's market. In most cases tire change was in favor of holders, thou°-h Electric ;md New Halfway Houses were easier. A pionounced upward tendency was shown by Et.tricks and Junction Electrics (which wore both dealt in), explainable by the returns for this week, while much stronger biiyiu;; support was accorded to Golden Bed* and Hartley and Rileys. New Bendigo. Gabriel. Alpine No. 2, Central Charlton, and No Town No. 2 commanded strong inquiry at rates fully up to late limit?. An attempt was made to form a market in New Golden Beaches. The dredge, airer practically being made a new machine, has at k'-t got going alter a long stoppage, and is said to have excellent ground ahead of her, the paddock, which is at a high level, being supplied by four races. The market formed so far is too wide to give much indication of share Takes. New Prince Arthurs \kk. not no well sought as lately.
