LONDON, December 12.
The fire at Sandringham, was due to overheating a beam from a stove. Queen Alexandra, replying to inquiries, declared that she was none the worse for Thursday’s fright.
BERLIN, December 12. Owing to the financial condition the German Military Bill, which will create new burdens on the people, has been postponed for a year.
ST. PETERSBURG, December 12. Fluvial displacement by the River Syr Darya, in Turkestan, submerged the northern half of the Orenhurg-Tashkcnd Railway for a distance of fourteen miles, and has converted the country into a lake 56ft deep and 30 miles broad. Some 330 miles more of the line is liable to inundation. BOMBAY, December 15.
