A CRUEL SISTER.

TIMAUU. April 11. To-day a young woman was sentenced I» seven days’ imprisonment for havint cruelly beaten her eight-year-old sister. The evidence showed that in an ungovernable fit of temper the accused beat hei sister with a broom-handle and a shovel it the most inhuman way. Accused admitted the offence, and said she did it in a fit m temper. The charge was laid under tin Children’s Protection Act of 1890.
