Manitoba wheat is quoted at 5s 9d per bi shei, and Argentine at 27s 5d a quarter, freight 16s 9d.

The Bank of England returns show the stock of gold coin and bullion to be £32,237,000, and the reserve £22,840,000. The percentage of reserves to liabilities is 48.12. The notes in circulation total £27,572,000; public deposits, £7,852,000; other deposits, £39,453,000; Government securities, £14,510,000; and other securities, £27,802,000. Three months’ bills are discounted at 3i per cent. Consols are quoted at £9l 7s 6d.

Quotations for colonial Government stocks are subjoined, compared with those ruling last week :

Tin: Spot and three months, £136. Sugar: First marks, 9s 6d; German, 8s

The Bradford wool market is strong, and there is a better demand in most directions. Sixties, 24^d. Butter (quiet); New Zealand, new, 100s to 108s. Cheese unchanged.

Frozen meat: Sheep unchanged. Lambs— Canterbury light 5 9-16 d, heavy 6|d; Dunedin and Southland, 6sd; North Island, s£d. New Zealand beef (nominal): Fores, 3Jd; hinds, River Plate beef: Fores, 3|d; hinds, 4^d.

The American visible wheat supply is estimated at 67,954,000 bushels.
