STOCK EXCHANGE NOTES. The height of the river was reported to the Dunedin Stock Exchange as 2ft 9in, with the weather fine. The market wau a little brisker this morning than yesterday, and six parcels of shares changed hands. The hitherto unaccountable drop in Bendigos was explained this morning by the dredge-master's report, in which he said that the sand pump will have to be used on the dredge after all. Shares consequently declined to—buyers 8/, and sellers 8/6. Golden Beach shares made their reappearance on 'Change to-day, after an absence from the call of some weeks. There wes a buyer at 5/ and a seller at 7/6. Golden Rivers saw a further fall, two sales being recorded at 5/7£, and another at 5/6, the market closing—buyers 5/3, sellers 5/9. At this figure it might be worth while buying into this stock for holding purposes. Halfway House shares were steady. Junction Electrics firmed a little, two sales at 18/6 being effected, and more being wanted at the figure. Sellers, however, preferred to hold for 19/. Leaning Rocks were also inclined to harden up a little. Meg and Annies were inquired for at 15/6, but there appeared to be no sellers at anything approaching this figure. The dredge-master of the Molyneux Kohinoor reported that the dredge was on "good gold," and he expected to get a satisfactory return this week. This report had the effect of making sellers retreat to 3/6 dis., buyers offering 5/6 dis. There was a further improvement in Monte Christos, buyers offering 17/, and sellers declining to transfer at less than 20/. River Molyneux stocks were again sold at 2/3. There was no change in the quotations for Manuherika, Nelson Creek, No Town Creek, Pactoius, Rise and Shine, and Unity shares. Upper Magnetics showed a tendency to drop, there being a seller at 6/3, without a buyer.
