* BUGLE COMPETITION. The first competition for the above trophy for the year 1902 was tired at the Pelichet Bay range on Saturday afternoon, seven teams taking part. CAVERSHAM RIFLES. The Caveraham RiHes fired at their range on Saturday for prizes presented by ?>Fr John Tavcrner and the company. The weather was against good shooting, being wet nnd misty. Conditions: Seven shots at 300, 500, and 600 yards. The wiuners wore Privates Porteous and Doran, Sergeant Scarle winning two range prizes for iho first class shots and Private W. Russell two for the second class. The following wee the highest scores, also counting for Hallenstein's trophy:

At Puerua on Easter Monday a friendly match was fired between ten local civilians and a team from the Clutha Mounted Rifles, the conditions being seven shots at 300 and 500 yards. An interesting competition resulted in favor of the visitors, the snores being: Clutha Rifles 502, Puerua Civilians 490. There is every probability of a strong rifle club being formed at Puerua.
