NORTH DUNEDIN GYMNASTIC CLUB.

♦- The annual meeting of the above clnb w;is held in the George street School gymnasium on Wednesday, the 2nd inst., there being about twenty-five persons present. Tho chairman, Mr Alex. Black, said lie was glad to note the exceeding prosperity which, had thus far marked the club's career, and could only hope the same would continue increasingly this session- He eulogized the keen interest displayed by the members, and expressed the pleasure it gave him to hear the result of that interest, as fully detailed in. the report That the club were able to place themselves fourth on the list in the clubs' competition held in the Dunedin Gymnasium was sufficient evidence of their reward, and he was sure it only needed a little extra hard work to raise them three places higher. His (the chairman's) only regret was that the advantages of their gymnasium were not much more availed of by the ex-pupils of the George street School, for whose express benefit the clnb were inaugurated. G. M'Donald; deputy-captain, Mr H. Brown (re-elected); secretary and treasurer, Mr G. Ferguson (re-elected); committee— Messrs J. Roberts, J. Robinson, and J. Dreaver; delegates to the Otago Gymnastic Association, Messrs A. Black and 0. M'Donald (re-elected); instructor, Mr W. Gibb (re-elected). The training evenings were fixed for Tuesdays and Thursdays. Sixteen new members were elected. Mr T. P.Farra, hon. member, who has taken a deal of interest in the club, expressed his intention of presenting a medal for competition among the members at the end of the session.
