Yesterday afternoon, at Messrs Ahlfeld Bros, and Co.'s warehouse, Mr W. C. Crane, who has been appointed to represent the firm in Auckland, was made the recipient of a handsome travelling bag, suitably inscribed, also a pair of silver serviette rings for Mrs Crane, as a token of the esteem of his fellow-employes. Mr A. Wallace, as spokesnnn, heartily congratulated Mr Crane on his promotion. An Auckland message says:—The authorised surveyors of Auckland have presented Mr W. C. Kensington, who left to-day to assume the duties of Under-Sec-retary of Crown Lands, with a handsome clock, suitably inscribed. Mr Foster referred to the friendly relations which had existed between the late chief draughtsman and the private surveyors, the ability with which he had discharged his duties, and his unffiling courtesy.
