DIX’S GAIETY COMPANY.

The cold weather and the counter attractions of last evening did not materially affect the attendance at the Alhambra Theatre. The programme was up to the usual standard, and merited the applause given. Madame Celina Bobs and the Haytors were the chief performers of the evening, their items coming in for hearty appreciation. To-night will mark tho first anniversary of the Dix Gaiety Company in Dunedin, and to commemorate the occasion a souvenir will be given to each patron. Mr Dix has done wonders for the variety stage in New Zealand in bringing over expensive and first-class artists from the other side, and a bumper house to-night may reasonably be anticipated.
