A sudden death occurred at Balclutha on Tuesday night, when Fred Mills, bootmaker, fell down and expired immediately. The dccased had been sitting in the billiard room of the Crown Hotel, where he was boarding, and on leaving the room to retire to bed he fell on the verandah. When picked up life was found to be extinct. He was about sixty years of age, and single. He had been a sufferer from heart disease for many years, and an inquest has been deemed unnecessary. FEILDING, September 19. Michael Sullivan, farmer, resident at Ruahine, was killed on his way home in a trap. His body was found by the roadside. He had apparently driven over a steep cutting.
