CYCLING.

At the Eight Hours sports meeting at Adelaide the five-mile scratch race was won by W. M'Donald, E. F. Wilksch coming second, W. Gl Symonds third, and G. Sutherland fourth. The following riders have qualified for the final of the Eight Hours Wheel Race:—G. Sutherland (20yds), R. Mutton, F. Hunt (40), E. F. Wilksch (60), H. M. Aunger (70), W. G. Symonds (110), A Sampson, A Chainpness (150), W. Pearce (160), H. E. J. Symonds (200), J. Body (240), S. Mutton (260). R. H. Walne, ex-Australian champion, who went to America with veteran Jack Green, the Englishman, is about to return to Australia, which suggests that he has not been very successful. Green, it was announced some weeks ago, intended to go home. Walne failed to get his form back all last season, and no doubt tho same thing has happened in America The trip, however, ought to do him a deal of good, and if he is ever to be champion again he should shine after his return. Walne in his letter intimates that at tho time of writing he had won £4O, and Jack Green about £BO, after a few weeks' training. He had a severe fall when racing at night on a nine-lap track, but was recovering, and the couple hoped to win more before leaving.
