CHAMPIONSHIP DRAUGHTS TOURNEY.
The' championship tournament was coptinned in the Enropeanfitotel throughout Saturday. At the evening sitting there was a good attendanoe of spectators, who watched the various-games with close interest. At the close of the play th.C Punedfa representative, Mr D. A. Brodie, bad a leaden the champion, Mr J. A. Boreham, having 9 points—eight wipe and fcfco draws oat of twelve games—-to his. credit against Mr Boreharti’s 4 points—three, wins and two draws ont of six games. Mr S. J. Belt got through the.reeordnumberof sixteen games, 'os og fourteen and drawing two. To-day’s pl»y should be very inten sting, and a grand tussle is anticipated When Boreham and Brodie meet.
