This match was resumed at Opoho on Saturday, tha B team (having in the second innings lost live wickots for 6 runs on the first day) continuing their innings. Burt and Hayncs faced tho bowling of Webb and Doig. Both jiitsmon played freely nnd runs came fast, tha icore rising to 41 beforo Gunthorpe found his way to Haynes's wicket. Of the remaining batsmen, Wbyte and Harraway, who both forced the ptico, added 27 for the last wicket, Ihe innings closing for 95, which, considering the inauspicious start, was not so bad. Itoquiring 104 to win, dollar and M'Cavin opened proceedings for Opoho, but Harraway and Smith bowling rcry well got four good wickets down for 30, making the result extremely doubtful. liuuUiorps and Gooch, however, came to the rescue, tlia former playing a lucky innings, tliree doubtful appeals for .dumping being answered in his faror and no ess than three catches being missod in tho field. It was not until 79 appeared that the nftli wicket fell. Nichol didn't last long, and it rested with Gooch and Doig to knock up the remaining runs, Opoho thus winning by four wickets. Tho poor fielding of the B team practically lost them the match, and thoy will have to pay more attention to this important department of the game if they desiro to ichievo any success at all. It is rather dis-'re.-siu<j to see simple catches missed in senior cricket,' and the display by both these teams ,vas extremely weak.
