A team of cricketers returning in a trap from Mount Barker capsized, and one of the number, named Chamberlain, was killed. Another named Laschke lies in a critical condition. The others were severely hurt. BRISBANE, November 23. A caucus of ,the Central Queensland members decided to oppose the Federal Enabling Bill, on the ground that the colony has been constituted one electorate instead of three.
News from New Guinea states that a party of mountain Natives attacked Thomson’s station on Goodenough Island, killed four boys, speared several others, and looted the store. A punitive party has been despatched.
