At 1 p.m. to-day the Fire Brigade were cilled cut to attend to some burning bush on the Belt, reir Driver's road, Maori Hill. When they arrived on the scene thsv found the King street police and Ranger Sim engaged in suppressing the outbreak. There was no water available, so manuka branches had to be employed to bsat out the flame.". Had the fire got a little better hold, a large pitch of bush would have been disfigured before it could possibly have been extinguished.
