. CHRISTCHURCH, November 8. The Governor this afternoon presented the certificates won -during the year by the members of the local branch of the St. John Ambulanoe Association. He referred to the origin of the parent society, of which he is a member, and expressed pleasure at to many policemen taking certificates. He printed out the necessity for this branoh of work being taken up- by the force generally, as rendering first aid prevented many accidents terminating fatally. - The Governors held a levee in the afternoon. The Garrison Band had been ordered to attend, but onlyjour members appeared. In the evening His .Excellency and Lady Ranfurly were entertained by the citizens at a conversazione. -
