Cwersham.--The meeting of this Counoil laßt week was attended by the Mayor (Mri Ruston), Crs Glendining, R. Wilson, Rao, I M'Gonigal, c 0 i 0) Hancook, Bridgman, Bur. gess, Scarlo, Smith, and J. Wilson.—The I Work* Committee recommended that the expenditure on tarring and sanding the footpaths be reduced to the following sums : North Ward, £SO 17a • Snuth Ward, £4l 123} Middle Ward, £22 17s } Kensington Ward, £7 10a; total, £122 1G». The report waß adopted.—The Finance Committee expressed the opinion that the present municipal franchise answered all the requirements of local bodies. The inspector reported that it would cost £45 to asphalt the footpath on the Forbury road, from Macandrew road to Mr Melville's, to a width of 6ft, and stone kerbing would cost 2s per yard, including laying. The matter was referred to the Works Committee.— It waß resolved that the South Dunedin Council be asked to repair the portion of Macandrew road from Forbury road to Surrey street.
