GOOD TEMPI ARY.
At the weekly meeting of the Pioneer of Dunedin Lodge, in the Lower Choral Hall on Tuesday, the C.T. presided. The officers’ reports (secretary, marshal, treasurer, finance secretary, and Finance Committee) were read and adopted. The officers for the present quarter were installed by Bro. F. Gillam, L.D., assisted by Bro. Campbell (All Nations) and Sis. Carr (Lily of Valley), and were as followC.T., Bro. Donald' Cameron; V.T., Sis. E. Fleury ; S., Bro. J. B. Simpson; T., Bro. A. 0, Campbell; F.S., Bro. J. Smyth ; C., Sis. Wright; M., Bro. P. Hegarty ; D.M., Sis. Gillam ; G., Bro. G. Fleury; S., Bro. A. Morgan ; A.S., Sis. E. M'Farlane; S.J.T., Bro, J, B Merrett; P.C.T., Bro. P. Chisholm. It was decided to pay an official visit to Lily, of Valley Lodge, and not to meet next Tuesday night, as it is Prince of Wales’s Birthday, Votes of thanks were accorded to retiring officers, installing officers, pianist, and visitors, several of whom responded and wished the lodge every prosperity and success on entering on the new quarter. At the quarterly meeting of the Lily of the Valley Lodge an official visit was re-ceived-from the Hope of Caversham Lodge. The reports of tho several officers showed the lodge to be strong both in members and funds. The new officers were duly installed by the Lodge Deputy, assisted by Sisters Buie and Thorne. The Hope of Dunedin Lodge held their weakly meeting on Friday, the Chief Templar (Bro. J. M. Sandeman) presiding. Communications from tho District re the visit of the Grand Chief Templar, reports of the Opan Social Committee, and the various officers’ reports for the past quarter were received and adopted. The officers for the quarter were installed into their positions by fie Lodge Deputy (Bro. R. J. Clark), assisted by Bro. Donovan and Sis. Dunne as installing marshals -.—Chief templar, Bro, J. M. Sandeman (re-elected); vice-templar, Sis. Bowie; secretary, Sis. f! Clark ; financial secretary, Bro. Caddie '• treasurer, Sis. Collier; chaplain. Sis! Aitken; past chief templar, Bro. G. W. Sandeman ; marshal, Bro. Newall; deputy marshal, Sis. Kennedy; guard, Bro. Barlow; sentinel, Bro. D. Sandeman. The various officers returned thanks for the honor of being elected to their positions, and hoped that the present term would, by all doing their best, be a prosperous and successful one. Harmony being called, the following contributed ; —Piano and violin duet, Sis. Mathews and Bro. Pitcher; song, Bro. Donovan; recitation, Bro. Mills; song, Bro. Sandeman; piano solo, Sis. Mathews; song, Bro. Pitcher ; recitation, Bro. Dunne. The vote of thanks to the visitors was responded to by Bro. Donovan (Chief Templar of the Lily of the Valley), Bro. D. Cameron (Chief Templar of the Pioneer), Bro. Young (Chief Templar of the Alliance), and Bro. Dunne (of the Hope of Caversham). A special vote was passed and replied to by Sis. Mathews for the able and obliging manner in which she had acted as organist and accompanist for the last quarter.
