The amount of revenue collected at the Customhouse on troodo cleared for consumption to-dav was £1,293 Is sd. The Custom-house will be closed on Tuesday, the9thmst. REVENUE RETURNS. The total value of imports into New Zealand during the quarter ended 30th September was £2,094.301, as against £2,050,0.56 for the corresponding quarter of last year. Aucklaud contributed £588,395. Wellington £480,827, Christen urch £356,945, and Dunedin £398,589 ft The value of exports for the September Quarter was £1,513,289, as against £1,334,473.
The value of gold exported from New Zealand during the September quarter of 1897 was .£232,844, the return from the Auckland district being by far the largest. For the corresponding quarter of 189(5 the figures were £302,974. The Customs and excise duties collected at the several ports of New Zealand during the quarter ended 30th September, 1897, amounted to £518,991, as against £491,772 for the corresponding period of 1893.
