»■ ■;. 1 lie we. lily meeting of the Otago Orowu Lauds Board, held yesterday, was attended by Mr J. P. Maitland (Commissioner), Mr W. Dallas, and Mr H. Clark. Banger Hughan reported on the application by R. G. Redhead for an occupation lease over 100 acreß in block 1, Cromwell district.—Lease granted over area applied for at a capital value of 10s per acre; survey fees to be deposited. 'J he ai plication of O. H. Spethraan and J. S. Booth for a lease in perpetuity over fourteen acres at Blacks Fiat, Tiger Hill district, was considered.— Referred to ranger for report. The Clutha and Vincent County Councils forwarded statements of proposed expenditure of "thirds" and for the period of April 1 to July 31, 1897.—Approved. N. Mortimer applied for a lease over all tlie unsold sections in blocks 38, 45, and 46, Town, of Hampden.—Referred to ranger for report. C. Turner applied for section 9, block 29, and the reserve jui ,ing blocks 29 and 30, Town of Hampden.—.Referred to ranger for report. H. M. Sutherland applied to surrender her pastoral license over sections 14 and 15, block 7, Table Hill district.—Referred to ranger for report. Ranger Hughan reported on the application by Charles Swanwick to purchase or lease about four acres in block 19, Tuapeka East district.— Consideration deferred. The Chief Surveyor forwarded a report upon section 18, block 4, Woodland district.—Considerationdeferreduntilaquarryrcserveislaidoff. William Johnston applied for a lease in perpetuity over section 22, block 16, Maniototo district. Approved, subject to Minister's approval. Ranger Atkinson forwarded a valuation of the improvements upon section 16, block 11, Kaseby district.— To be*reopened at a capital value of 203 per acre, with £4 5a valuation for improvements, subject to the Governor's approval. • John Law, jun., applied to have the license granted kim.over section 18, block 6, Maniototo, cancelled. —Declined The Board were requested to consider as to how sec;ion 22, block 14, Maniototo district,- at present a temporary school site, but not suitable lor that "purpose, shall be dealt with.—To be offered at auction as land of special value ou account of Its proximity to the railway. Ranger Hughan to be appointed appraiser. Robert Gilmour applied for a renewal of his license to occupy section 1, block 3, Silver Peak district. —Declined. P. M. Law wrote requesting that he bo allowed valuation at the end of this term of lease over BmarT-grazing run 225 a. for clearing and sowing down in grass.—Declined. The Under-Secretary for Lands sent in a memo, intimating that surrender of the smallgrazing run held by John Bcattie over section 2, blo.k 6, Strath Taitri district, has been approved, and the B. ardare tequtated to dctctmiiiu at what rent the run can be reopened.—To bo reopened at a rental of 6d per acre, with valuation for improvements £4lO lis, subject to Governor's approval. Donald M'lnncss applied to surrender Icaao in perpetuity over sections 56, £6a, and 61, block 7, Maruwenua district (Tokorahi Estate). — Surrender recommended for Minister's approval. John Coyle applied io exchange dtferredpayment lease for lease in perpetuity over section. 4, block 4, Swinburn district.—Approved. The application of W. A. White to purchase rural la:.d held under perpetual leaso was recommended for the Minister s approval. The Board were requested to determine how runs 247b, 247 c, 247b, and section 16, block 6, "Upper Taleri district, should be dealt with at the expiry of the preseut license. —From the character- of the country the Board are still of the opinion that these runß will be most profitably dealt with by offering them for lease in one run for a term of twenty-one years from Ist March, 1898, at a rental of £903 a year, with valuation for improvements of £2,046 3s 6di • John Laweon requested that the Board would reconsider their decision with regard to terminating Jris license over forty-five acres in block 10, Waipbri district.—To be recocsidered at the, tiext meeting of the Board.
