The Alliance Lodge held'their fortnightly meeting in the Arcade Hall, South Dunedin, op Monday evening, C.T. Bro. Young presiding. Visits were received from the District Executive officers and the Star of Freedom Lodge, Roslyn. - D.C.T. Bro,. Parkinson and O.T. Sis. Hayward (Roslyn) were accorded seats on the right and left of the C.T. of the lodge. Various reports were considered re district degree meetings, finance, and by-laws. It was unanimously agreed that the lodge hold their meetings weekly instead of bi-weekly. The election resulted thus ;- C.T , Bro. Young (reelected); V T., Sis. Lawrie; secretary, Bro. M'Laren ; F.S , Sis. Wentworth; treasurer. Sis. M'Pherson; marshal, Bro. P. Lawrie. Several musical items and recitations were given and well received. Bro, Parkinson gave a short address. V°t ea of thanks were passed to' the visitors in a very hearty, manner, and responded to by D.C.T. Bros. Parkinson and Clarke, .Sis. Hayward (Star of Freedom), Bros. J. Sandeman and Donne. (Hope of Dunedin and Hope of Caversham' respectively).. Thp weekly meeting of Pioneer of Dunedin Lodge, No. 2, 1.0. G.T., was held last night.. The C:'T; presided. Two candidates were initiated. The officers for the coming quarter were elected, and will be installed into office nett Tuesday night. The following contributed to the harmonyßro.' Kennard, Sis. Churchill, Bro, Smeaton. A vote of thanks was accorded to visitors and scrutineers, on whose behalf Bro. J. N. Merry (Lily), Bro. J. M. Sandeman (Hope of Dunedin), and, Sis, F. Thdrh (Caversham) responded.• -
