* WELLINGTON, October 27. At the annual meeting of the National Assembly of Knights of Labor resolutions were' passed that lawyers shoUld-.be prohibited from appearing in civil court" oases for debts; under £10; that the Government be asked to subsidise doctors in out-of-the-way districts; that the Government be nrged to extend the operation of the improved farm system ; and that -the Government be asked to adopt a uniform system of school books. > ■
Replying to' the deputation fro.n the Knights of Labor, the Premier said that a Bill now In hand would ; deal with the questipa: at lawyers’ fees. /. The Government were not to subsidising doctors in out-of-the-way districts. ■ He was in favor, of the extension of the S’ate farm system :As to the Local Government Bill, it would be brought down to the House in a modified form-to-day. -
