NAPIER, October 25 A four-roomed cottage owned and occupied by Mr W. Springfield, cab-driver, was totally destroyed by fire early this morning. The inmates had a narrow escape, and lost everything. Insurances: South British. £175. • '
NEW PLYMOUTH, October2s. Four Natives—iwo men and two women—who were arrested at Pungarehu on Saturday were charged before the S.M. this morning with damaging a fence. They were each fined 10s and bound over to keep the peace, each in £SO and one surety of £25 each.
