AUCKLAND, October 21. At a meeting of creditors of Samuel Adams, storekeeper, of Pareora, who has been arrested on a charge of arson, the creditors resolved to ask the Official Assignee to take steps to prosecute him under the penal clauses of the Act in connection with the books. The-Assignee stated that a charge of perjury was also to be laid against Adams in connection with his alleged loss of the ledger, which was recovered on the boach at the Thames last week.
