St., Hilda. f-The meeting of this Council last night was attended by the Mayor (Mr T. Culling), Crs -Mitchell, Allen, and Farrell.—ln respect to Mrs M'Caw's application for a footpath and drain in Cargill Btreet it was stated that the whole question of drainage of the block was under consideration, and it was decided that as soon as funds would permit the matter would be attended to,—The General Committee were appointed to represent the Council at the conference to consider the best way of procuring a recreation ground.—The Inspeotor reported that the box drain in block I,< Prince Edward road, had given way, and had been repaired for a length of 34ft in brick and concrete. The box drain bad given >vay. at Bird street crossing.—lt was stated that, the -bank- overdraft stood at £824 8a 2d, the legal limit being £829 9a Bd.
