The meeting of the Otago School Com- i missioners, held yesterday, was attended by Messrs J. P. Maitland (Chief Commissioner), J. Walker Bain, W. Dallas, A.' Baldey, aud J. Green. Transfer of the lease of section J, blook 8, Wendon, from David Waddell to G. P. Miller was agreed to. An application was received from J. J. Argyle for a road line- through seotion 11,, block 14, Wendon, whicb"'had been adver?tised for sale.—Notice to be given afc the salo that the Commissioners reserved to themselves the right to take an area of from 40 to 50 acreß from one corner of section 14, to be offered separately. Mr A. E. Robson, lessee of run 327, asked the Commissioners to reconsider their decision not to offer the run for sale in February next, but to offer it at once.—Decided that I the run be offered about the beginning of January.
It was resolved that Mr Dallas and the secretary interview the Bruce County Council and endeavor to arrange lo get a road line to give access to section.4s and part section 2, block 44, Akatore. The Southland County Council forwarded a request for a subsidy of £IOO towards roads in blocks 9, 11, 12, 13, and 14, Wendon district.—lt was decided that the Commissioners would offer to the County Council any accrued thirds since the date of their last settlement, but could not go beyond that Mr J. L. M'Donald in his monthly report stated that the only tenders received on the 2nd inst. for leasing were as follow :—J. Handyside, section 56, block 1, Waikaia, at Is per acre, or £2 4s per annum ; A. Murchisop, sections 17 and' 18, block 7, same district, at 3d per acre, or £6 Is per annum. Both tenders were accepted.—He forwarded an application from J. R. Turnbull, lessee of section 21, block 10, Jacob River, for extension of lease for one year. It was resolved to grant the extension on certain conditions.
