WELLINGTON, October 18. A conference of delegates representing the various hospital and charitable aid boards of the colony opened this afternoon to discuss matters 'affecting the qnestion of charitable aid in all its phases. Twenty were present, and others are expected. Mr. J. J. Davine (chairman of the Wellington District Board) was eleoted president. In the course of his inaugural speech he said that a change was desirable in the mode of administration of the charitable aid of the colony, and one of his suggestions was that the oost of charitable aid should be paid out of the Consolidated Fund.
