WELLINGTON* Octobeb 15. ~ Mr-Justice Edwards to-day gave a decision in which he held that a fowl is an animal within the meaning of the Impounding Act, 1884. The case arose out of the destruction of a fowl which was trespassing on a man's property. The justices m the lower court held that a fowl was nbt.an .animal within the meaning of the Act* and that therefore the statute did not require notice to be fiven to the owner or the police.
