lhe first committee meeting of the season was held in Mr Myers's rooms last Monday evening nearly every member being present. Seventeen new members were elected. It is intended to have a few yacht club cruises, the first of which will be held on New Year's Day at Broad Bay, when a regatta and sports, under the auspices of the Yacht Club and residents and intending residents of that district, will be held. All members and honorary members and their friends will receive invitations to these cruises, and it is hoped that they will prove a means of arousing fresh interest in sailing matters, besides increasing the membership of the club. The Committee have also under cor si deration tho matter of squadron evolutions and (other details which should prove bo hj interesting to spectators and instructive to members. For the opening day the Committee will endeavor to place one or two steam launches at the disposal of their members
