v SYDNEY, October 6. Eastern news. of. August 5 states that 3,000 Philippine;lsland rebels entered the town of San Rafael, which was occupied by a Spanish regiment. The rebels carried all before them, and drove the Spaniards into a convent, where they were besieged for two' days. A large reinforcement of Spaniards arrived and routed the rebels, who fled, leaving 160, dead and wounded. The Spanish lost forty-three killed and wounded.
