SYDNEY, October 5. The Government have decided to appoint Mr Oliver, the second commissioner, to be Chief Commissioner of Railway, wee Mr Eddy, deceased. Mr Kirkcaldie, the chief traffic manager, has beeji appointed third commissioner, at a salary of £1,500 per annum. Mr Oliver's salary is fixedat £2,500. October 6. : -Both Houses have reassembled.' Mr Eeid announced that he would deliver his Budget not later than the 14th. Mr Barton informed a deputation who asked him to stand for Redferm at the forthcoming General Election that so far as he could foretell it was not likely that ho would re-enter active politics for some time.
