GIVING DRINK TO A DRUNKARD.
CHRISTCHURCH, October 5. At the Magistrate’s Court to-day VV. H. Cox, licensee of the Sumner Hotel, was charged with supplying brandy to a woman while she was drunk. Mr Beetham said he thought that to allow the woman to remain in the bouse drinking all the afternoon was reprehensible, and to mark his sense of it he inflicted a fine of £lO, with costs (15s) and expenses (£2 2s),
