The annual meeting of the Star Cricket Club was held on Thursday, when about forty members were present. Mr C. Eyre presided. The report showed the club to be in a good position, financially and numerically. The record of the First Eleven last year was : —Matches played, 15 ; won 9, lost 6. The Second Eleven played 17, winning 11 and losing 6. The bowling averages for First and Second Elevens were won by T. Elder and J. Murdoch respectively, and batting averages were won by E. Rowlatt for the First and T. Bennett for the Second Eleven. The following office-bearers were elected for the ensuing season: —President, Mr A. H. Shelton ; vice-presidents—Messrs S Lean, A. R. Morrison, H. Goldsmid, W. Taylor, D. C. Cameron, A. Terry, and J. M'Donald, secretary, Mr C. Harris ; assistant-secretary, MrD. Cameron; General Committee—Messrs T. Rowlatt, J. Murdoch, T. Bennett, D. Cameron, and D. M'Laren ; practice captain, Mr C. Harris ; Match Committee, captain of each eleven and Mr D. Torrance; delegate to the OCA., Mr U. Cameron. The election of captains and deputy-captains was left to each eleven. About twelve new members were elected.
