The cleau -up for the August quarter was finished at the Blue Spur Consolidated Company's mine on Monday evening, the result being 7990z of gold, of the value of £3,130. This return shows an increase of no less than 1220z on the corresponding quarter of last year, which is exceedingly satisfactory when the extreme dryness of the quarter just passed and the consequent scarcity of water is considered. The larger output is entirely due to the increased richnes? of the cement operated on.—' Tuapeka Timer.'
