The weikly meeting of the Otago Land Board, held to-day, was attended by Mr J. P. Maitland (Commissioner of Crown Lands) and Messrs H. Clark, "W. Dallas, J. Duncan, and H. H. Kirkpatrick.
Messrs Inder and Cutten applied on behalf of Edward and Patrick Ryan for perm'ssion to remove fencing upon sections 11 and 14, block 15, Maniototo district.—Granted.
_ Banger Atkinson forwarded a valuation of the improvements upon section 105, Ardgowan Estate, lately forfeited by J. A. Rollings.— Valuation approved, £27 16s Id; when reopened to be grouped with section"lo*. ' , M-Docherty applied for a lease over section 105, Ardgowan Estate.—Declined. Banger Mackenzie reported upon the application by A. Wilson for a Icensa to occupy Manuka and Orescent Islands. Lake Wanaka;— Declined, land in question being under the control of the Domain Board. «, The Board was requested to authorise the Receiver of Crown Lands Revenuoto pay over the followicg amounts, received as valuation for improvements upon the following surrendered and forfeited sections:—Maruwenua districtSection 7, blocks, £4loi—payment authorised • section 11 block 3-payment aushoiised, less fcl lis 4d to be paid into the public account • sections 12, block 3, £8 12s 6d, and 14, block 2, £lB 163-payment authorised, Awamoko district: Sections 53 and 32, £B2 16s—payment authorised, less £l4 Is Id to be paid into the public account; section 61, block 2. same district, £4l 6s—payment authorised; section 99, block 2. same district, £7—payment authorised, less £4 to be paid into the public account. Rankleburn district: Section 9, block 6, £5 16s—payment authorised, less £1 9s to be paid into the public account. Ranger Atkinson forwarded a valuation of the improvements upon section 104, Ardgowan Estate, lately surrendered by James Gibbons.— Valuation approved, £152 3s Id ; the wheat crop to be valued seven days before sections are opened for application, valuation of same to be added to the above amount; section to be grouped with 105.
Dalgely and Company wrote on behalf of John Smith, licensee of section 1, block 10 3 block 11, Domet ilistiict; 1, block 10, 3, block 13, Kyeburn district; and 2, block 1, Kakami district, requesting that ho be allowed valuation at the end of his term for the fencing, sheep yards, and sheep dip erected by him.-Con-sideration deferred. Richard and Edward Ryan applied for areas of the Havelock mining reserve under occupation lease, the former for twenty-five acres and the latter for ten.—Declined. The following applications for rural land were received:—John Prassel. section 7, Maerewhenua Estate; Henry Kroil, sections 11, 12, 13, Maerewhenua Estate; "William Laird, section 53, Maerewhenua Estate, and section 32, block 3, Oamaru district; Daniel Gouldine, section 99, Maerewhenua Estate; William Sutherland, section 6a, Puketapu Estate; John M'Cabo, section 61, Maerewhenua Estate.— Approved. P. C. Valpy applied for permission to purchase land held under perpetual lease in mining district, sections 11 to 16, block 1, Upper "Wakatipu district. Recommended for Minister's approval. Andrew M'Kenzie applied for an occupation lease over two acres ia block 10, 'Waitauuna East district, to be held under Mining District Land Occupation Act—Lease granted at an annual rental of 2s 61 per acre. * B „r ng £ r £? kinson reported on the application of Mr T. Chalmer to have sections 46 and 47 block 2, Dunedin and East Taieri district, opened for application. Section 46 recommended for notiHcation at a capital value of ' s 6d per acre, and section 47 at 10s per aero. Thomas Kinross applied for a lease in perpetuity over 72 acres of blcck 3, Kawarau district.—Referred to Ranger Mackenzie for report as to capital valuo' of the land.
