Her Majesty the Queen has presented the Emperor of Germany with a magnificent album of Jubilee photographs. Owing to Turkish troops having secretly landed in Crete, the foreign admirals have forbidden the Turkish troopships to remain in Cretan harbors.
The arrest of those suspected of being connected with the young Turkish party continues. Four hundred and twenty-three have been exiled from Turkey and sent to Tripoli.
The advance guard of the Egyptian army have occupied Berber. Forty miners were killed hy an accident in the Champion Reef gold mine, Madras. The imports from Great Britain into Canada for the last four months show a decrease as compared with tho same period last jear. Premier Laurier’s organ says that if the intention of the new tariff to favor Great Britain has failed the tariff must be amended.
