The Indian Government have sent a letter to the Ameer of Afghanistan staling that the military operations on the Indian frontier ate intended as a punishment to the mollah Hadda and his followers, and that it is nbt proposed to interfere with the independence of the frontier tribes or to permanently occupy tfie territory. The Khans of Nawagi ■ and Manda will assist in Brigadier-general Ellea’a expedition against the rebellious Mohmands.
