WELLINGTON v. OTAGO.
The Wellington representatives arrived from the South last evening, and are staying at the European Hotel. This morning they had practice on the Garisbrook Ground, which was found to be heavy owing to recent rains, but it is drying fast, and if the weather holds up should be in fine order tomorrow.
The Wellington team will not be selected till the morning, but we understjmd that there will be no alterations in the forward division from. the Southland match. Baumber will replace Tucker as full-back, Wallace (who was disabled 'at Christchurch) will be dantre three-quarter, and either Matson or Pritchard •■(probably the latter) wing three-quarter along with King. , Mr W. 0. Garrard, who is to be referee, will arrive from Christchurch this evening. Tho visitors speak in terms of the highest praise of their treatment at the hands of the three Southerns unions. In Christchurch, Invercargill, and Dunedin everything possible has been done to make their stay as enjoyable as possible. The South Canterbury-Wellington match, which had been fixed for Tuesday next, has been cried off by the former Union. The Wellington men are to be taken to Portobello on Sunday,
