ORANGE LOYALTY.
The Orange Lodgeß of the colony have forwarded, in the form of an illuminated scroll, the following loyal address to Her Majesty the Queen, signed by eight of the principal officers : We, your Majesty's most dutiful and loyal subjects beine mebers of the Grand Orange Lodge of New Zealand, Middle Island, hereby humbly desire, in the name of our lodge, to approach and offer your Majesty our most sincere and hearty congratulations on the completion of the sixtieth year of your Majesty's eventful and beneficent reign. It is the longest and by far the most important in the annals of English history. When we consider the innumerable efforts which have been made since your Majesty's accession to the throne for the improvement of the condition of the people, and for the promotion of human happiness throughout the whole Empire, your Majesty's reign stands unrivalled in the annals of the world. We rcioice that it is our privilege to belong to such an Empire, and to be under the ride of one so wise and good as our gracious Queen. Your Majesty has had many sorrows and bereavements during your long reign, but the affection and sympathy of your subject* in every part of your vast Empire have been with you at such seasons, finding utterance in prayer for Divine consolation. We most devoutly hope and pray that your Majesty maybe spared many further years to reign over the vast realm over which Divine Providence has called you to rule, which, by His blessing, has become so powerful and prosperous under your Majesty's sway. And that God may continue to bless and protect your Majesty, and ever have you under His care and keeping, is the sincere and earnest prayer of your Majesty's attached and faithful subjects.
