DRUIDISM.
The half-yearly meeting of Otago lodge was held in the European Hotel on Wednesday evening, A.D. Bro. 8. C. Brown presiding. There was a large attendance of members and visitors, included among the latter being an official visit from the Executive of the District Grand Lodge (District Grand President Bro. A. Morrison, D.G. Vice-president Bro. Osborne, D.G. secretary Bro. A. H. Shelton, and D.G. treasurer Bro. W. 0. Evans). The auditors' report and balance-sheet were received and adopted. The latter showed the lodge to be in a sound financial position, there being a balance of £1,113 in the sick and funeral fund. The report showed the lodge to be increasing rapidly in membership. The competition for the various offices was the keenest that has been experienced for some considerable time. The elections resulted as follow. —A.D., Bro. W. Bird; V.A., Bro. W. Booth; secretary, Bro. Daniels (re-elected); treasurer, Bro. Evans (re-elected); minute seoretary, Bro. H. Bomeril (re-elected); A.D. bards, Bros. Hanson and Williamson; V. A bards Bros. Isaacs and Kiel; 1.G., Bro. William Harrop; 0.G., Bro. William Wnrr. The D.G. President (Bro. A. Morrison), assisted by P.D.P. Bro. E. J. Bryant, installed tbe various officers. It was decided that tbe lodge would take part in the record reign procession. It was also resolved that P. A Bro. J. H. Hanson's name be placed on the respect board, and that he be presented with a framed diploma. The vote to the visitors I was responded to by D.G.P. Bro. A Morrison and P. A Bro. J. Woods (Ivanhoe). One candidate was initiated and four proposed for membership. Receipts of tbe evening £3.
