At the Albany street Committee’s meeting last night Mr A. T. Anderson was appointed a delegate to the Schools’ Conference vice Mr Wait resigned. The head-master reported : Attendance—Boys 1164, girls 400 ; total, 76-L Average: Boys 329, girls 347 ; total, 67G. Highest attendance on any halfday, G9G. The Chairman reported that the alterations to the old building would take from six to eight weeks, and the headmaster advised and it was agiced to break up to-morrow, and reopen the school (if possible) the second week iu February. It was also agreed to invite the members of the Education Board and members of Parliament of the town and district to be present. The Committee resolved not to nominate a candidate for the vacancy on the Education Board.
The Mornington Committee last night nominated Mr John White for the vacancy on the Board. The hggd-master reported the average attendance for the month to have been 407 ; the number on the roll 510. The amount deposited in the savings bank for the mouth was £5 10.4 8.1 : withdrawals, £5 15?. It was resolved that the school break up on Thursday, the 17th inst. The Caversham Committee have deferred till next meeting consideration of the proposal to establish a penny bank. It was decided to nominate Mr W. D. Milne for the vacancy on the Board. The break-up was fixed fur the 18th inst.
