A preach of promise case, in which the damages were laid at £SOO, came to a very satisfactory, end at Bristol recently. The plaintiff was a Miss Annie Leonard, and she sued a young, man named George Kendall, of Bittou, near Gloucester, for trifling with her affections., Judgment had been allowed to go by default,-and the-only question for the jury was to assess the amount of the damages. They , were, however, relieved even of this duty, for when the case was called the solicitor for the plaintiff announced that there would after all be no occasion to trouble the jury. The young man had seen the error of ‘his, way r the young lady had taken him back to her heart, and that they were unable to attend the court as they were away, on their, honeymoon, having been married on the daybefore.
