Rosia'n. —The Council’s meeting was held last night; present—The Mayor (Mr Kemnitz). Crs Liddell, Sim, Sutherland, Drew, I’alerson, Millar, Wilson, Watson, Philp, Wcdderspoon, and Scott. —The Works Committee recommended, among other things, that the tender of Mr R. Turner for the supply of 50yds of metal to Audcrston road at 4s 5d per yard be accepted, and that the tender of Mr D. Dow for footpath formation in Wakari extension for the sum of £3 5s be accepted. The Committee reported that the inspector had been instructed to repair the roadway in Michic street extension, to take steps to prevent persons depositing ashes and rubbish in Michic street and Tweed street, and to screen the footpath in Bishopsoourt township where necessary. The report was adopted.—The Finance Committee recommended that the Dunedin Sinking Fund Commissioners be informed that the Council are prepared to pay the amount of purchase money on a title to the laud being given, and that the sum of £lO be voted to the funds of the Roslyn Fire Brigade. This yeport also was adopted.—A letter from Mr A. J. Park forwarding plans and specifications of the proposed new tramway line to Kaikorai Valley, and stating that he had already applied to the Council to procure an order authorising the construction of the line, was referred to the consideration of a special meeting to be held on Friday next.
