At the wool sales the total disposed of included 158,000 bales for the Hoffie trade and 198,000 for export, while 34,000 bales; were held oyer. .All old; stocks offered were virtually cleared. . : • -
The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, have received the following cablegram , from their London office“ The sales closed firmly. Since the close-of last - sales greasy merino super, washed and scoured merino super, greasy and dcoured merino (medium and infOrioi), 'and tine greasy cross-bred are Ad to Id per lb higher; washed inerino (medium and inferior) and fiqe scoured-cfoss-bred are par to |d per ; lb ’ higher; , medium washed and scoured' cross-bred,.coarse washed cross-bred, scoured coarse-cross-bred, greasy merino lambs super,: and groasyuross-Dred lambs arc waraegreasycrosa-bredis Id to Ud per lb higher. The total quantity sold during the past sales is 360,000 bales, of which 138,000 Balsa have: been taken for the Continent aUd ; 62,000 bMes for America. It is estimated ihat 32,000 bales have been held over for future disposal. ”
